The de Kervoac land is located in the town of Lanmeur in Brittany. The name of the family property became the family name of the descendants of Alexandre de Kervoach.
On 8 July 2000, the mayor of Lanmeur, Mr. Jean-Luc Fichet, and the then president of the Kirouac Family Association, Mr. Clément Kirouac (GFK 00800*) unveiled a memorial plaque honouring the Franco-American writer Jack Kerouac, because his ancestors like those of all the descendants of Alexandre de Kervoach, came from this place. The municipality of Lanmeur chose to do this while 32 KFA members were visiting Brittany on a return to the sources journey.
The monument holds two plaques. The top one is made of grey granite and the lower one of black granite
Inscription on the stele:
Rue Jack Kerouac (street)
Écrivain (writer) 1922-1969
The origin of the name of the Franco-American writer who had a major influence on his century, as well as the name of all the North-American Kerouac comes from the place-name Kervoac, cradle of the Le Bihan family whose ancestors were from Lanmeur.
